The Korea International Cooperation Agency has been approved as an Accredited Entity for the Green Climate Fund.
The GCF made the decision last week at a board meeting.
The UN agency, headquartered in Incheon, aims to use the funds to encourage low-carbon development and climate recovery in developing countries.
The KOICA will be able to implement climate-related projects while promoting South Korea’s Green New Deal.
Also approved as Accredited Entities were nine other institutions, including the Development Bank of the Philippines.
