S. Korea’s maximum power demand reaches 92 million KW, setting new record

With the arctic cold wave hitting South Korea on Thursday, the nation’s power demand reached a record high.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the maximum power demand as of 5PM Thursday, reached 92 million kilowatts, exceeding 90 million for the first time ever, this winter.
With even colder temperatures expected today, the country could set a new record high in the coming hours, with more demand for heating.
