South Korean comfort women’s first trial in their compensation lawsuit against the Japanese government will take place this week in Seoul.
According to the Seoul Central District Court, the judge will make the first ruling as early as Friday.
In Daejeon District Court, the Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has lodged an immediate appeal.
This happened Sunday after the court delivered an order to liquidate the local assets of the firm to compensate the Korean victims of Japan’s wartime forced labor.
