S. Korea, int’l communities celebrate 1st ‘International Day of Clean Air for blue skies’

South Korea celebrates the first ‘International Day of Clean Air for blue skies’ today.
Under the slogan of ‘Clean Air for All’, the government is hosting an event at 3:30 PM in Seoul, which will include representatives from 17 local governments from China, Japan and Russia.
Other events will be also be held nationwide this week.
The day will also be celebrated at the UN Headquarters in New York, as well as at the UN Environment Programme in Nairobi.
September 7th was designated as the Day of Clean Air for blue skies– at the UN General Assembly last December.
The idea was first proposed by South Korean President Moon Jae-in at the UN Climate Action Summit last September.
