President Moon nominates new ministers for interior, land, welfare, gender equality

President Moon Jae-in replaced four of his ministers today in the latest of his Cabinet reshuffle.
He replaced his Minister for Interior and Safety with three-term lawmaker Jeon Hae-cheol of the ruling Democratic Party.
Based on his legislative experience, President Moon expects Jeon to contribute to achieving balanced regional growth and disaster management.
To lead the land and transport ministry, Moon nominated Byeon Chang-heum, the current head of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation with expectations that he will bring to the table realistic policies to address housing issues.
Health and Welfare Ministry will now be headed by Kwon Deok-cheol, current head of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, and Chung Young-ai, a sociology expert, has been tapped as gender minister.
The nominees will face parliamentary confirmation hearings before being appointed.
