The virus test kits used by South Korea and praised around the world have been officially certified by the ISO as an international standard.
The announcement was made Thursday by the Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy.
Seoul had proposed to the ISO that it adopt a standard for South Korea’s real-time PCR test kits and the walk-through and drive-thru testing models.
This will serve as a reference for other countries if they want to use the same methods.
The ISO approved the test kits in a vote in October and they became a standard as of Wednesday.
