President Moon Jae-in says South Korea was able to protect its citizens during the pandemic thanks to the public’s trust in the government.
The message was delivered in a video message on Tuesday at the International Anti-Corruption Conference 2020.

“We will expand the power we witnessed of ‘openness, transparency, and democracy’ to the inclusive economy through the Korean quarantine model.
We support all anti-corruption international cooperation including ‘Transparency International’ and will continue to work on the sustainable growth of humanity.”

He also pointed out that South Korea’s position on the corruption perceptions index has rapidly improved over the last three years.
He plans to raise that ranking to above 20 from the current 39 by 2022.
