A major coronavirus outbreak has been reported in a call center in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do province.
As of Thursday night, the call center confirmed that 21 workers have the virus.
The virus also spread outside the center’s building, to 9 other people including the workers’ family.
Asan, also in Chungcheongnam-do province, saw a separate chain infection of 11 people.
To tame the spread in Cheonan and Asan, health authorities are upscaling social distancing measures to level 1.5 in both cities.
In South Korea, Chungcheongnam-do province is currently the only place to take social distancing measures up a notch from level 1.
