U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien is expected to visit South Korea next month.
The Blue House said Sunday that he was invited by South Korea’s National Security Advisor Suh Hoon when Suh was recently in Washington and O’Brien responded that he would come in November.
The Blue House added that Suh’s trip reaffirmed the strong Seoul-Washington alliance, and that the two sides were able to discuss the situation on the Korean Peninsula and other issues of mutual interest.
The allies exchanged assessments of North Korea’s recent military parade and how to achieve a resumption of talks between Washington and Pyeongyang for denuclearization and peace on the Peninsula.
Suh returned from his four-day trip on Saturday.
While there, Suh met with other top U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
