Healthy People is a national initiative to improve our nation’s health and well-being. Every 10 years these science-based goals and measurable objectives are reviewed, updated, and used by the federal government, states, communities, and many other public and private organizations to monitor progress and to target, mitigate, and prevent health problems. Our center at the Food and Drug Administration takes a leadership role in food safety and nutrition under many national objectives for Healthy People.
Priorities for the Healthy People initiative reflect input from public health experts; federal, state, and local government officials; individuals; and thousands of organizations.
