President Moon thanks S. Koreans for quarantine compliance during Chuseok

President Moon Jae-in has expressed thanks to the South Korean people for cooperating with the quarantine rules during the five-day Chuseok holiday.
In a meeting Monday with his top aides, Moon pointed out that the number of new daily infections is coming down.
He also noted some positive economic news South Korea’s economic growth in the second quarter ranked number one among the OECD countries, and in September exports rebounded for the first time in seven months.

The reason South Korea’s quarantine system is now regarded as a global model is because the economy is faring well. These positive results are thanks to the active cooperation of the people. The government will continue to work for a successful quarantine, and in turn swiftly revive people’s livelihoods and the economy.

Moon also welcomed news that South Korea had moved up two notches to rank eighth in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking for 2020.
He said this reflects the country’s achievements in digital innovation, which the government has been focusing on.
