All sixty people on board a vessel which caught fire near the Maemuldo Islands off the coast of Tongyeong City, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, are safe.
That’s according to the Korea Coast Guard, which explained that the blaze was reported on a 6,3-hundred-ton cable-laying vessel at around 3:50 a.m. Friday, some 57 kilometers south of the Maemuldo Islands.
While most of the people aboard the ship were South Korean nationals,10 of them were from Vietnam and 1 was from Italy.
