South Korean President Moon Jae-in has vowed his administration’s utmost efforts to overcome the global pandemic through multilateral cooperation.
In a keynote address Friday to this year’s Jeju Forum on Korea’s southern resort island, the president said South Korea will be giving extra assistance and attention to those most vulnerable to the pandemic and its wider effects.
Seoul will be giving ten million U.S. dollars to the COVAX Advance Market Commitment, the international project to develop and distribute vaccines.
President Moon also highlighted that peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia cannot be achieved without peace on the Korean Peninsula.
