Top nuke envoy believes better foundation for declaration of end of Korean war formed with Washington

Seoul and Washington formed a “better foundation” for the declaration of an official end to the Korean War.
That’s coming from the nation’s top nuclear envoy who is returning from his trip to the States.
Lee Do-hoon told reporters, very broad and meaningful discussions were held with his American counterpart, and a better foundation can be formed based on reaching a mutual understanding of the need to declare a formal end to the Korean War.
According to Stephen Biegun, the two sides had “excellent” discussions on what he called “constructive ways” and “creative ideas” to advance diplomacy on the Peninsula.
Lee’s trip to the U.S. came shortly after President Moon Jae-in urged international efforts to declare an end to the Korean War.
He believes the move would provide a security guarantee to the regime and prompt it to give up nukes.
