South Korean health officials say they’ll be monitoring this week’s new COVID-19 infections closely as they’ll likely determine whether or not social distancing levels need to be raised.
Currently, the greater Seoul area is under the strongest Level 4, with most other places under Level 3 until August 8th.
This comes as new daily cases have been above a thousand for almost a month now.
As of 9 PM Sunday, one,159 new cases were reported, down 220 from the day before, but fewer tests are done over the weekend.
Meanwhile, South Korea is widening vaccinations by expanding them to those 18 to 49.
Starting Tuesday, three days of pre-registration will begin for delivery drivers and street maintenance workers.
About two million more people will be eligible to receive their shots from August 17th to September 11th.
