Now, on to South Korea’s search operations for the remains of the government official who was shot dead by North Korean troops last week.
According to the Korea Coast Guard on Monday, a total of 45 vessels and six aircrafts have been dispatched in the western sea to locate the man’s body and his belongings.
While analyzing fingerprints collected from the patrol boat the official was on before his disappearance, the Korea Coast Guard is also conducting DNA teststo determine whether a pair of shoes found on the boat belonged to the official.
Pyeongyang is yet to respond to Seoul’s request for a joint probe into the case.
